A little history

The Wimbledon Championships — held at the All England Club since 1877 — are the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament in the world. Wimbledon Common (1,100 acres of wild common land) is one of London's finest. The Village has exceptional independent shops and restaurants. Wimbledon AFC — the original — play locally.

Local tip

The Championships in late June/early July are genuinely special. Wimbledon Common for excellent walking and running. The Village for outstanding independent food. The Windmill on the Common.
