A little history

Tiverton Castle — a mixture of Norman, medieval and Georgian architecture — is an extraordinary survival, still inhabited. The Grand Western Canal — opened 1814 — is one of England's most beautiful remaining horse-drawn barge routes. The town grew as a wool and lace manufacturing centre.
