A little history

Thame has one of Oxfordshire's finest market streets — broad, tree-lined and bordered by medieval and Georgian buildings. The Thame Show — held every September — claims to be the largest one-day agricultural show in England. John Hampden (the Parliamentary hero of the Civil War) was mortally wounded nearby.

Local tip

The High Street and market are genuinely beautiful. The Thame Show in September is excellent. The town centre for outstanding independent food. The Thame Museum.
