STEAM Museum (the Great Western Railway museum in the original GWR engine sheds), the Designer Outlet (one of England's most popular), the Magic Roundabout (the famous traffic junction), and a Wiltshire new town that grew around the Great Western Railway

A little history

Swindon grew from a small village to a major town when the GWR works were established in 1843. At its peak, the GWR locomotive works employed 14,000 people and was one of the largest engineering works in the world. STEAM museum occupies the original engine sheds. The Magic Roundabout (five mini-roundabouts in a circle) has achieved legendary status.
