A little history

Sunderland was one of the world's greatest shipbuilding centres — at its peak launching more ships than anywhere on earth. The last Sunderland-built ship was launched in 1988. The city has reinvented itself with culture and technology. The Glass Centre celebrates the Wearside glass tradition.
