A little history

Streatham was a fashionable spa town in the 18th century — Dr Johnson was a regular visitor to the Thrales' home at Streatham Park. Tooting Bec Lido — opened in 1906 — is the largest outdoor swimming pool in Europe. The area has a strong Caribbean and South Asian community.
