A little history

Stratford hosted the 2012 London Olympics — the Games transformed a post-industrial wasteland into the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The ongoing East Bank development is bringing the V&A's new museum, Sadler's Wells East and BBC Music Studios to the area. Westfield Stratford opened in 2011.

Local tip

The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is excellent — the Velodrome and Aquatics Centre are exceptional. Westfield for retail. The East Bank cultural development is transforming the area rapidly.
