The John Dunlap connection (printer of the American Declaration of Independence, born here), the Derg Valley, and a County Tyrone border town with American heritage

A little history

John Dunlap — born in Strabane in 1747 — became the official printer to the Continental Congress and printed the first broadside of the American Declaration of Independence in 1776. The town is on the Foyle at the Donegal border. The Derg Valley is beautiful.

Local tip

The John Dunlap heritage is celebrated in the town. The Derg Valley for walking. Derry/Londonderry is close for wider cultural attractions.
