A little history

RAF Stanmore — at Bentley Priory — was the headquarters of Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain in 1940. Air Chief Marshal Hugh Dowding directed the defence of Britain from here. The Bentley Priory Museum tells this extraordinary story. Canons Park provides local parkland.
