A little history

The South Bank was transformed for the 1951 Festival of Britain. The Royal Festival Hall was the permanent legacy. The Tate Modern opened in 2000 in the Bankside Power Station. Borough Market — London's oldest — has traded for over 1,000 years. The area is now London's premier cultural and food destination.
