A little history

Rotherham was a major steel town — Templeborough steelworks was once the largest in the world. The Magna Science Adventure Centre, opened in 2001 in the enormous steelworks building, transformed the site. The Minister of All Saints is a fine Gothic church. The town is regenerating through cultural investment.

Local tip

Magna is genuinely excellent — the giant steelworks building with spectacular fire shows. Clifton Park Museum is free and good. The Minster for the Gothic architecture. Wentworth Woodhouse nearby (one of England's largest country houses).
