A little history

Rosyth Royal Dockyard — opened in 1909 — built and maintained British warships for over a century. HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales, Britain's new aircraft carriers, were assembled here. The dockyard is now the main base for aircraft carrier maintenance.

Local tip

The Forth Bridges views from Rosyth are excellent. Dunfermline is close for wider amenities and food. The dockyard heritage is significant.
