A little history

Peterhead is the largest white fish port in Europe — processing enormous quantities of haddock, cod and other North Sea fish. The prison, opened in 1888, housed some of Scotland's most notorious criminals and was the scene of riots. The pink granite of Peterhead — distinctive and durable — built the harbours of the British Empire.
