A little history

Peebles has been one of Scotland's most admired small towns for centuries — Robert Louis Stevenson called it 'the most Scotch of small Scotch towns'. The town is at the heart of excellent Borders countryside — Glentress forest provides world-class mountain biking and the River Tweed runs through. The Beltane Festival, held each June, is one of the Borders' finest.

Glentress mountain biking is outstanding — one of Scotland's great 7stanes trail centres. The River Tweed walk and salmon fishing. The High Street for excellent independent shops and cafes. The Beltane Festival in June.
