A little history

Northleach grew wealthy from the medieval wool trade — St Peter and St Paul's Church, rebuilt with wool merchants' money in the 15th century, is one of the finest Perpendicular Gothic churches in England. Keith Harding's World of Mechanical Music houses an extraordinary collection of automata and musical boxes.

Local tip

The wool church is magnificent and free — the wool merchants' brasses are outstanding. Keith Harding's is extraordinary — the musical automata are delightful. The Cotswold countryside from Northleach is beautiful.
