A little history

Nairn was a favourite holiday destination of Charlie Chaplin — he brought his family here for summer holidays in the 1950s-60s. The beach is genuinely exceptional — wide, sandy and backed by dunes. The town has two excellent links golf courses. The Highland coast location gives it remarkably warm sea temperatures for Scotland.

Local tip

The beach is genuinely outstanding — one of Scotland's best east coast beaches. The golf at Nairn or Nairn Dunbar is excellent. The town centre for independent shopping. The Chaplin connection is celebrated locally.
