Known for

Butlin's (one of Butlin's original holiday camps), the start of the South West Coast Path (the longest footpath in Britain), the Exmoor gateway, and a North Somerset seaside town

A little history

Minehead is the northern terminus of the South West Coast Path — 630 miles to Poole. The town is also home to one of Butlin's most popular resorts. The West Somerset Railway — a magnificent heritage line running inland to Bishop's Lydeard — departs from the town.
