A little history

The Old Grammar School — built 1614, standing on oak columns above the butter market — is one of the finest timber-framed buildings in the Midlands. Market Harborough grew as a coaching town on the London-Leicester road. The Kibworth area nearby was home to the Symington family — makers of corsets and later tinned food.

The Old Grammar School is extraordinary — the timber-framing above open arches is unique. The market for local Leicestershire produce. The Manor House Museum. Foxton Locks (nearby) for the extraordinary staircase canal locks.
