A little history

Llanelli was the world's greatest tinplate-producing town in the 19th century — the town's tinplate works supplied the entire world. The Llanelli Scarlets RFC have won the Welsh Premiership and European trophies. The Millennium Coastal Park has transformed the former industrial coastline into one of Wales's finest green spaces.

Local tip

The WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre is genuinely excellent — the flamingos, wildfowl and wetland landscape are outstanding. The Millennium Coastal Park for cycling and walking. Parc y Scarlets for Welsh rugby. The town market.
