A little history

Llandrindod Wells grew explosively as a Victorian spa resort after the railway arrived in 1865, with chalybeate and sulphur springs attracting visitors from across Britain. The Victorian legacy — hotels, bandstand and pump rooms — is remarkably intact.

Local tip

The Victorian Festival in August when the town dress in period costume is wonderful. The lake and Pump House for the spa heritage. The Heart of Wales Railway for spectacular journeys.
