A little history

Leighton Buzzard Light Railway was built in 1919 to transport sand from the quarries — the extremely pure local sand was used in optical glass and industrial processes. The railway still runs as a heritage attraction.

The narrow gauge railway is genuinely charming. All Saints Church for the medieval graffiti. The market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The Grand Union Canal for walking.
