A little history

J.M. Barrie — creator of Peter Pan — was born at 9 Brechin Road, Kirriemuir in 1860. The town was his 'Thrums' — the inspiration for the fictional setting of his early novels. The Camera Obscura in the town centre is one of the oldest in Scotland. Barrie donated the cricket pavilion to the town.
