A little history

Kirkby was built as a new estate to rehouse Liverpool slum clearance residents after WWII. The town has strong Beatles connections — several members of the group spent time here. The former ROF (Royal Ordnance Factory) complex was one of Britain's largest munitions plants during WWII.
