A little history

Ivybridge grew around the bridge over the Erme and expanded with the railway. Brunel's spectacular viaduct carries the main line dramatically above the town. Dartmoor moorland is walkable directly from the town.

Local tip

Walk below the viaduct on the Erme Valley trail — impressive Victorian engineering. Dartmoor National Park is walkable from town. The Erme Valley for beautiful Devon river walking.
