A little history

Hove developed as a fashionable Regency and Victorian resort — Brunswick Square (1820s) and Adelaide Crescent (1830s) are among the finest Regency terraces outside Bath. The town officially merged with Brighton to form Brighton and Hove in 1997 — though Hove retains a distinct, slightly more restrained character.

Local tip

Brunswick Square and the Regency seafront for the finest architecture. Church Road for the best independent food in the Brighton and Hove conurbation. Hove Lawns for the peaceful seafront. The cricket ground for Sussex County Cricket.
