A little history

Hereford Cathedral contains the Mappa Mundi — a 13th century map of the world that is the largest surviving medieval map on vellum. The cathedral's chained library is one of the finest in the world. Herefordshire is the county of cider — more apples are grown here than anywhere in Britain — and the Hereford breed of cattle has been exported to six continents.
