A little history

The Henley Royal Regatta, held since 1839, is the world's most prestigious rowing event — attracting the best rowers from across the globe. The Thames through Henley is particularly beautiful, with the Chiltern Hills rising behind. The town centre has retained its Georgian and medieval character remarkably.

Local tip

The Regatta in June-July is extraordinary — even without a ticket the riverside is spectacular. The River and Rowing Museum is excellent. The Chiltern Hills walking from the town. The town centre independent shops are excellent.
