A little history

Helensburgh has produced two of the 20th century's greatest inventors. Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed Hill House in 1902 — it is considered his masterpiece of domestic architecture. John Logie Baird, inventor of television, was born here in 1888. The Victorian grid of streets on the hillside above the Clyde is one of Scotland's most handsome planned towns.
