A little history

Haywards Heath grew with the railway in the Victorian era, becoming a commuter settlement for London workers. The surrounding area has some of Sussex's finest villages — Lindfield, Cuckfield and Ardingly all within miles.

Local tip

Lindfield village is one of Sussex's finest — visit the pond and the village green. The Bluebell Railway at Horsted Keynes for steam. The Ardingly Reservoir for walking.
