A little history

The Battle of Evesham in 1265 saw Simon de Montfort — the father of the English Parliament — killed by royalist forces. The Benedictine Abbey was once one of the greatest in England. The Vale of Evesham's fruit growing tradition has supplied England for centuries.

Local tip

The asparagus season in May is extraordinary — buy directly from farm shops on the Vale roads. The Abbey ruins for the Battle of Evesham site. The riverside walk on the Avon.
