A little history

Eastbourne was carefully planned by the Duke of Devonshire as a model Victorian resort — the seafront's Grand Parade, hotels and gardens are a remarkably complete example of Victorian seaside town planning. Beachy Head, rising 530 feet from the sea, is one of England's most dramatic natural landmarks.
