A little history

Mick Jagger was born in Dartford in 1943; Keith Richards in 1943. The two met on Dartford Railway Station platform in 1961 — the chance encounter that led to the Rolling Stones. The Dartford Tunnel, opened in 1963, became one of Europe's busiest crossing points.

Local tip

The plaque at Dartford Station marks where Jagger and Richards met. The Darenth Valley Country Park for walking. The Bluewater Shopping Centre is minutes away. The town centre market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
