A little history

Cushendall is the main village of the Glens of Antrim — nine of Ireland's most dramatic glacial valleys meeting the sea. The Curfew Tower, built in 1817 by Francis Turnley as a place of confinement for riotous persons, is one of Ireland's most unusual vernacular buildings. The village is a major GAA centre.

Local tip

The Glens of Antrim walking from Cushendall is extraordinary — Glenariff Forest Park is particularly spectacular. The Curfew Tower in the village square is unique. McCollam's pub is one of Antrim's great traditional pubs. The Antrim Coast Road south to Carnlough.
