A little history

Cramlington was designated a new town in 1963 to house Newcastle's growing population. The town was built with a distinctive neighbourhood structure. Its position between Newcastle and the Northumberland coast gives it good access to both urban and rural amenities.

Local tip

Northumberland coast is 15 minutes away — Whitley Bay and the beaches are excellent. Newcastle is 20 minutes by car or bus. The town centre has good independent and retail options.
