A little history

Coventry was one of medieval England's most important cities — its cloth trade made it enormously prosperous. Almost entirely destroyed in the 1940 Blitz, it rebuilt with Basil Spence's extraordinary new cathedral

Local tip

The cathedral is genuinely one of the 20th century's great buildings — don't skip it. Earlsdon for eating. The Transport Museum is free and world-class.
