A little history

Brixton became the heart of Caribbean London from the late 1940s when the Windrush generation settled here. The 1981 Brixton riots were a defining moment in British race relations. David Bowie was born in Brixton in 1947. The neighbourhood has transformed dramatically since the 1990s while retaining its unique character.
