A little history

Brierfield grew as a cotton weaving town in the Pendle Valley. The town's large South Asian community — predominantly Pakistani — arrived in the 1960s and 1970s to work in the mills and has transformed the town's character and culture since then.

Local tip

Pendle Hill is a short drive and worth every minute — the views from the summit are extraordinary and the witchcraft heritage is fascinating. The town's South Asian food is excellent and genuine. The Pendle Way walking route passes nearby.
