A little history

Bridgend grew as a market town at the crossing of the River Ogmore. The surrounding area has extraordinary heritage — Ogmore Castle, Coity Castle and Ewenny Priory all within a few miles.

Local tip

Merthyr Mawr sand dunes are extraordinary — Lawrence of Arabia was filmed here. Ogmore Castle and Ewenny Priory are free and excellent.
