Bishopbriggs sits on the line of the Antonine Wall — the Roman Empire's northernmost frontier, built in 142 AD and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town developed as an affluent Glasgow suburb in the 20th century, with the Wall passing through its parkland.
