A little history

Henry Royce — who co-founded Rolls-Royce with Charles Rolls — was born in Biggleswade in 1863. A Viking winter camp was established here in 912 AD, evidenced by archaeological finds. The town sits on the River Ivel in a fertile farming valley.

Local tip

The RSPB Sandy reserve nearby is excellent for birdwatching. The Ivel Valley walking. The market on Saturdays. The Henry Royce connection is marked in the town.
