A little history

Bideford was one of England's most important ports in the 16th century — Sir Richard Grenville sailed from here to Virginia. The 677-foot Long Bridge, rebuilt in the 15th century, remains the heart of the town. Charles Kingsley lived here while writing Westward Ho!
