A little history

Beccles grew as a market town at a crossing of the Waveney River. The town was a major printing centre — Nelson Beccles printed 19th century publications of national significance. The Broads are accessible from the town quay.

Local tip

The town quay for Broads boat hire and river walks. The Saturday market is good. The Beccles Museum for local history. The Waveney for excellent boating and fishing.
