A little history

Barnstaple is one of England's oldest boroughs — receiving its charter in 930 AD. The Pannier Market, built in 1855, is one of the finest Victorian covered markets in the West Country. The Long Bridge over the Taw has stood since the 13th century.

The Pannier Market on Tuesdays and Fridays is exceptional for North Devon produce and craft. The Long Bridge walk over the Taw. The North Devon coast — Croyde, Saunton and Braunton — is minutes away.
