A little history

An ancient market town on the River Anton that grew with the coaching routes between London and the West. The famous Andover Workhouse scandal of 1845 shocked Victorian England. The town rebuilt and expanded in the 1960s overspill era.

Local tip

The High Street market on Thursdays and Saturdays. The Guildhall for arts events. Harewood Forest for walking — the bluebells in spring are spectacular.
