A little history

Aberlour — formally Charlestown of Aberlour — was founded in 1812 by Charles Grant. Walkers Shortbread has been baked here since Joseph Walker opened his bakery in 1898. The village sits at the heart of Speyside, the world's greatest whisky region.

Local tip

The Walkers Shortbread factory shop is the best place to buy. Aberlour Distillery for whisky tours — one of the most welcoming on Speyside. Walk along the Spey for otters.
